2021 Sejong Writing Competition
Due Date: 04-30-2021
Eligibility: Open to all residents of the United States and Canada
1. Essay category adult division (age 30 years and younger): Read “The Wings” by Yi Sang (full text available from the website) and write an essay in response to the prompts.
2. Essay category senior division (age 18 years and younger): Read “The Poplar Tree” by Choi Inho and “The Old Hatter” by Yi Munyol. Write an essay in response to the prompts.
3. Sijo category adult division (age 19 years and older): The sijo is a traditional three-line Korean poetic form organized technically and thematically by line and syllable count.
