American Academy in Berlin
AMERICAN ACADEMY IN BERLIN: The academy is a private, nonprofit center for advanced research in a range of academic, cultural, and professional areas. It welcomes American scholars, writers, policy makers, and artists who wish to engage in independent study in Berlin for an academic semester or, in rare cases, for an entire academic year. Fellowship benefits include round-trip airfare, comfortable accommodations in the Hans Arnhold Center, partial board, and a monthly $5,000 stipend. Fellows are expected to be in residence during the entire term of the award. Candidates must have completed a doctorate or equivalent professional degree at the time of application and must be United States residents. The deadline for applications is 5 October. Application forms and further information may be obtained from the academy’s Web site (www.americanacademy.de/apply/apply-for-a-fellowship/). If you wish to send a hard copy application, e-mail Emma Lo at firstname.lastname@example.org.
