California Italian Studies (CIS) is pleased to announce its upcoming special theme issue, 15.1 (Fall 2026), “Italia-stile: ‘Made in Italy’ and the Making of Italian-ness.”

Preliminary contribution proposals (300–400 words) and a brief autobiographical note should be sent to issue editors Claudio Fogu (claudiofogu@ucsb.edu) and Medina Lasansky (dml34@cornell.edu) by no later than 1 October 2025. If your proposal is accepted, you will be expected to submit your essay for peer review by 1 December 2025, through the journal’s portal.
