RICE UNIVERSITY HUMANITIES RESEARCH CENTER: Autry Visiting Scholars offer up to three residential fellowships for external faculty members during the academic year. The fellowship term can range from one semester to one year and includes a stipend of up to $60,000, depending on rank, with relocation funded separately. Fellows will be in residence at the center and may teach one course and participate in special symposia and an informal lecture series. Non-US faculty members are especially encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted during October. See http://hrc.rice.edu for information. Rice Seminars External Research Fellowships offer four residential fellowships to scholars from any rank and all disciplines whose research intersects with examination of materialist philosophy, beginning with classical antiquity and moving up to today. Fellows will take part in a year-long academic think tank, leading to the publication of papers in an edited collection with a major university press. The fellowship offers a $60,000 stipend, benefits, and a research/relocation allowance. Applications are due 1 December; see http://hrc.rice.edu/riceseminars/ for information.
