Abstracts for Proposed Volume: Virginia Woolf – Variations
Due Date: 07-30-2026
This collection of scholarly and personal essays and other materials will bring together for mutual illumination these two aspects of “Woolf and Teaching”: studies of Woolf as a student, as an educator, and as an author who represented and commented upon education; and writings about teaching Woolf as a school and university subject. The volume will connect studies of Woolf and teaching with sample syllabi and class plans demonstrating pedagogical practices.
Abstracts (300–500 words, as a Word document or PDF) are due by 30 July 2026. We will send replies by the end of August, and completed chapters will be due by the end of June 2027. Researched essays should be around 7,000–9,000 words; personal essays focused on your teaching experience, especially those that append a syllabus or lesson plan, could be shorter. To discuss ideas and plans in advance, please email Margaret Homans with any questions: margaret.homans@yale.edu.
