LIBRARY COMPANY OF PHILADELPHIA, HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF PENNSYLVANIA, AND BALCH INSTITUTE FOR ETHNIC STUDIES: Jointly-sponsored doctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships in American history and culture in residence at these libraries. Stipends are $2,000 for one month. In addition, the Library Company sponsors long-term dissertation and postdoctoral fellowships that carry stipends of $10,000 to $20,000 per semester. The deadline is 1 March (except for long-term postdoctoral fellowships, which have a 1 November deadline).
